Mentoring from Ki-Rin

  • Are you looking for someone who can support you in your professional and personal development?
  • Have you recognised a gap in your position of leadership where discussing ways of developing your own skills, knowledge and attitude would support you?
  • Does it sometimes feel lonely at the top where you don't have the opportunity to confide in someone without fear or prejudice?
  • Do you often find that, within a constantly changing external environment, the speed of projects and the speed of innovation has increased, and you are expected to keep with the pace?

Professional mentoring could be the solution to your problem. Through a trusted advisor, mentoring offers an opportunity for you to be supported and encouraged in your position of leadership in your organisation or project. A mentor is an individual with the experience, knowledge, and/or skills of a specific content area who is able, willing, and available to share this information with another individual. Within mentoring relationships, individuals learn by doing. In other words, individuals practice what they learn.

Who is mentoring for?

Ki-Rin's mentoring service is for CEOs, Chairs and Board Trustees, senior managers and executives in the UK charity and public sectors who occupy or are expected to hold positions of leadership.

What are the benefits of mentoring?

Ki-Rin's mentoring service allows you, through the development of your skills and knowledge, to benefit at a personal and professional level. It can also help you to build a stronger and more successful team, and implement a more effective management and governance model.

The aim of this service is not only to develop and support the individuals but also to accelerate the development of the organisation. A successful mentoring relationship can quickly help you to apply what you have learned within your organisational culture and business environment.

Drawing from an understanding of emotional intelligence, Ki-Rin's mentoring service is built within a context of:

  • Understanding the psychology of human behaviour
  • Improving self esteem and boosting personal and professional confidence
  • Dealing with stress management
  • Improving relationships
  • Developing critical paths to effective leadership

Who will provide the mentoring?

The mentoring service is provided by Ajay Mehta, who is the founder of Ki-Rin and Ki-Rin dynamics. With over twenty years of experience working with the UK and international Charity sector, complemented by professional contribution in the commercial and NHS arenas, Ajay is well placed to deliver the mentoring service. With a strong academic background in business, he is also a trained facilitator and trainer, with an interest in emotional intelligence and leadership.

The mentoring process

Mentoring may not be for everyone. Therefore, initially, we would arrange an introductory meeting to see if the mentoring service is for you.

Mentoring sessions would normally take place outside of the leader's working environment at a time and place to suit both the mentor and mentee. The service is also available by telephone and Skype.

The actual mentoring process would involve the following:

  • An organised set of regular and structured 1-2-1 meetings
  • Telephone and email support
  • Confidentiality of discussions
  • Adaptation to each individual's learning style
  • Honest and constructive feedback
